North Austin Martial Arts Alliance

The North Austin Martial Arts Alliance is a group of like minded martial arts schools, students and instructors who have agreed to work together in order to share knowledge, support each other and help our member grow in their martial arts training.

The primary method for fostering this fellowship and information exchange is through coordinated events that promote learning, friendship and positive experience for the participants.

Events

Currently there are three types of events utilized in this fashion:

1. Friendship Tournaments - These are tournaments where the primary goal of the event is to provide a positive experience for the competitors.  Competitors are put into groups of four based on size and rank.  At the end of each event competitors are ranked based on their performance as Ring Champion, 1st Place, 2nd Place or 3rd Place.  Special emphasis is placed on ensuring that everyone displays good sportsmanship and a positive environment of friendship and learning is maintained.
2. Fellowship Seminars - These are seminars where instructors from several schools in the alliance and special guests present techniques and concepts in an open format that allows student to learn and benefit from each others experiences.
3. Alliance Training Sessions - These are mini-sessions where instructors and senior students from alliance schools gather to share ideas and train.  Typically they are 4 hour sessions with 4 different instructors sharing knowledge.  Teaching assignments are rotated from session so that everyone gets a chance to learn and teach.

The Alliance intend to to hold 4 Friendship Tournaments a year, 2 Fellowship Seminars a year and Alliance Training Sessions every other month.
