Yul-Gok (38 movements): Yul-Gok is a pseudonym of a great philosopher
and scholar Yi I (1536 - 1584) nicknamed the "Confucius of Korea". The 38
movements of this pattern refer to his birthplace on 38-degree latitude
and the diagram of the pattern represents scholar.

PARALLEL READY STANCE: At -C-
Facing -D-.
1. Slide left foot to -A- into a SITTING STANCE
with a left tension punch to -D-.
2. Right fast punch in same stance to -D-.
3. Left fast punch in same stance to -D-.
4. Move left foot to right foot then slide
right foot to -B- into a SITTING STANCE with right tension punch to -D-.
5. Left fast punch in same stance to -D-.
6. Right fast punch in same stance to -D-.
7. Move right foot to line -CE- into a RIGHT
WALKING STANCE to -E- and execute a inside-out middle block with the
right forearm to -E-.
8. & 9. Execute a left front snap kick to -E-
lowering foot to -E- into a LEFT WALKING STANCE with a left middle
punch.
10. Execute a right middle punch to -E- keeping
same stance.
11. Pivot on right foot, moving left foot on
line -CF- into a left FRONT STANCE and execute a inside-out middle block
with the left forearm toward -F-.
12. & 13. Execute a right front snap kick to
-F- lowering foot to -F- into a right FRONT STANCE with a right middle
punch.
14. Execute a left middle punch to -F- keeping
same stance.
15. Move right foot on line -CD- into a RIGHT
WALKING STANCE with a right knife hand hooking block toward -D-.
16. Execute a left knifehand hooking block to
-D-.
17. Execute a right middle punch to -D-.
PERFORM # 16 & # 17 IN A CONNECTING MOTION
18. Step toward -D- with left foot into a LEFT
WALKING STANCE with a left knifehand hooking block toward -D-.
19. Execute a right knifehand hooking block to
-D-.
20. Execute a left middle punch to -D-.
PERFORM # 19 & # 20 IN A CONNECTING MOTION
21. Step toward -D- with a RIGHT WALKING STANCE
and execute a right middle punch.
22. Turn the face toward -D-, forming a RIGHT
BENDING READY STANCE A toward -D-.
23. Execute a left middle side piercing kick to
-D-.
24. Lower the left foot to -D- into a LEFT
WALKING STANCE with a right elbow smash to -D-.
25. Turn the face toward -C- while forming a
LEFT BENDING READY STANCE A toward -C-.
26. Execute a right middle side piercing kick
to -C-.
27. Lower the right foot to -C- into a RIGHT
WALKING STANCE with a left elbow smash to -C-.
28. Move left foot to -G- into a RIGHT L-
STANCE with a twin knifehand high block to -G-.
29. Step to -G- with right foot into a RIGHT
WALKING STANCE with a right middle spearhand thrust supporting right
elbow with left back hand.
30. Move right foot clockwise 180 degrees
toward -H- into a LEFT L- STANCE with a twin knifehand high block to
-H-.
31. Step to -H- with left foot into a LEFT
WALKING STANCE with a left middle spearhand thrust supporting the left
elbow with the right back hand.
32. Move left foot counter-clockwise toward -C-
into a LEFT WALKING STANCE with a left outer forearm block to -C-.
33. Execute a right reverse punch to -C-.
34. Step right foot toward -C- into a RIGHT
WALKING STANCE with a right outer forearm block.
35. Execute a left reverse punch to -C-.
36. Push off the right foot and jump to -C-
landing in an left foot forward X-STANCE with a left high back fist to
-C-. (Chest faces -A-)
37. Pivot on left foot and move right foot
clockwise toward -B- into a RIGHT WALKING STANCE toward -B- with an
augmented forearm block.
38. Bring right foot to left foot then step
toward -A- with left foot into a LEFT WALKING STANCE with an augmented
forearm block to -A-.
